Kalamata prioritizes Lyomena (Vagia) for urban regeneration

The Municipality of Kalamata has prioritized the Lyomena (Vagia) area as the first phase of a major urban regeneration project in Eastern Kalamata. Following guidance from the Ministry of Interior and the approval of the Antonis Tritsis Program, the municipality is moving forward with a total budget of €21,020,000 for three major sub-projects.

The prioritized Lyomena (Vagia) project has a budget of €7,760,000. The plan aims to transform the 107-acre area from an anarchically structured zone into a model of sustainable urban development. Planned infrastructure includes roads, squares, green spaces, sports facilities, playgrounds, sidewalks, and parking areas.

Two other major sub-projects are included in the overall plan: construction in the Old Camp area with a budget of €8,660,000, and construction at the Iroon & Mavromichali location with a budget of €4,600,000.
