Kalamata to launch energy renovation service office by 2028
The Municipality of Kalamata is establishing a Citizen Service Office dedicated to residential energy upgrades through the HERMES project (Holistic Energy Renovation Management & Engagement Support). Funded by the European Union’s LIFE Clean Energy Transition program, the initiative aims to simplify the process for homeowners seeking to improve their property's energy efficiency.
HERMES will create three One-Stop-Shops (OSS) located in Athens, Trikala, and Kalamata. These centers are designed to provide a centralized location where citizens can access information regarding engineers, technical solutions, subsidies, loans, and necessary administrative procedures, eliminating the need to navigate multiple different entities independently.
The project involves a collaborative framework coordinated by SDA, including the Union Internationale de la Propriété Immobilière (UIPI) from Belgium, the Panhellenic Federation of Property Owners (POMIDA), the Municipalities of Athens and Trikala, the Sustainable City Development Organization of Kalamata, and Piraeus Bank. The Kalamata facility is expected to be fully operational by 2028.
