Kalart Seeds launches rural coliving incubator in Spain's Montseny region

Kalart Seeds, the new incubator launched by Kalart – the first rural coliving project in Catalonia – aims to train the next generation of community builders and coliving founders. The program targets three growing challenges: the loneliness of remote workers, the housing access crisis, and the depopulation of rural areas.

Founded in 2018, Kalart has hosted more than 300 people from 39 nationalities, with 73 % extending their stay and residents averaging 1.7 years. Two out of ten long‑term residents eventually settle in the Montseny valley, contributing to local associations, cultural activities and projects. Kalart Seeds will offer a four‑week, fully‑funded immersion where participants learn to design, facilitate and manage intentional rural colivings. The initiative seeks to create a network of projects that revive underused housing, attract remote talent to rural zones and strengthen social ties.
