Kalesija Municipality Declares Day of Mourning for Collective Funeral of Three Zvornik Victims
The municipal council of Kalesija in Bosnia and Herzegovina has officially proclaimed June 1, 2026 as a Day of Mourning. The observance marks the collective funeral and burial of three victims of the 1992 aggression in Zvornik, whose remains were identified after long‑term exhumation efforts.
During the Day of Mourning municipal buildings will lower flags to half‑staff, public cultural and entertainment programs will be suspended, and hospitality businesses are required to operate in a manner respectful of the solemn occasion. Local electronic media will also adjust their programming to reflect the mourning.
