Kalla Translog plants 31,000 mangroves in Indonesia's Pangkajene and Kepulauan

Kalla Translog, a logistics firm, conducted a mangrove restoration action on 25 July 2026 in the Tekkolabbua coastal mangrove conservation area of Pangkajene and Kepulauan (Pangkep), South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The company planted 31,000 mangrove seedlings across 3.1 hectares.

The activity is part of the company’s ESG programme, aligned with its "Kalla for Life" initiative, aiming to rehabilitate the coastline, reduce erosion, increase carbon sequestration, and provide habitat for marine life. Participants included CEO Andi Muhammad Gunawan, COO Muhammad Naim, Assistant I of the Pangkep government Drs. Muh. Thamrin, internal volunteers and the local Mangrove Farmer Group.

Kalla Translog has run the mangrove program consistently since 2022 and has facilitated the propagation of roughly 100,000 seedlings overall, supporting sustainable coastal ecosystems and benefiting surrounding communities.
