Kallithea, Greece: 15-year-old fatally stabbed in gang clash, 17 identified

Police investigating a deadly clash in the Kallithea district of Athens have identified 17 participants, seven of whom have been arrested. The incident unfolded on the night of June 24‑25 when a 17‑year‑old assaulted a 15‑year‑old with a knife, causing the younger victim’s death.

Forensic teams collected evidence at the scene, including stones, gloves, a helmet, shoes and a discarded knife that is being examined for DNA and fingerprints. The retrieved knife was later determined not to be the murder weapon. Early suggestions of a rivalry between youth groups have been ruled out, and the motive remains under investigation.

The victim, a resident of Dionysos with a prior weapons‑possession record, was taken to a hospital after the stabbing but was pronounced dead. Police continue to search for the remaining ten identified suspects.
