Kallithea, Greece Clash Leaves 15-Year-Old Dead, 17 Suspects Identified

A violent confrontation between three groups of youths erupted in the Kallithea district of Athens on the night of 24 June 2026. The fight involved knives, stones, expandable metal batons and other objects. During the melee, one group chased a 15‑year‑old boy who was seriously wounded; he died a few hours later at a hospital from a single deep wound to the heart, with no evidence of additional blows.

Police investigations identified 17 participants in the incident, of whom seven were arrested. A separate indictment for violations of sports and weapons laws also named 18 parents of the under‑age suspects for alleged neglect. Further forensic work uncovered additional weapons and fan‑related material at the scene. An ongoing inquiry has linked another 16 individuals to the clash, six of whom have been detained, and authorities have launched a manhunt for nine more alleged participants.

The case has been forwarded to the public prosecutor, with the seven arrested facing charges of pre‑meditated homicide and participation in a violent gathering.
