Kalshi gold contracts surpass Ether in September trading volume

Kalshi’s 15-minute gold contracts saw significant growth in September, recording 542 million trades and generating approximately $5 million in estimated fees. This volume surpassed Ether’s 15-minute contracts, which recorded 318 million trades and $2.6 million in estimated fees during the same period.

Bitcoin remains the dominant market on the platform, with its 15-minute markets generating an estimated $60.4 million in fees in September. Kalshi reported that its commodities trading volume reached $400 million within seven months of launch.

Short-duration markets, including 15-minute crypto, commodity, and financial contracts, are becoming a major driver for the platform. In the seven days leading up to October 5, these markets generated $20.4 million in fees, accounting for roughly 80% of Kalshi’s non-sports revenue.
