Kalshi raises $1.12 billion in private equity offering

Kalshi, a New York-based prediction market operator, has raised approximately $1.12 billion through a private equity offering that commenced on April 3, 2026. According to SEC filings, the company is working toward a total target of roughly $1.5 billion, with approximately $380 million still available. This follows a $1 billion Series F round in May 2026 that valued the firm at $22 billion.

The company is reportedly in discussions for an additional $750 million funding round that could potentially value the business at $40 billion. Kalshi’s growth is reflected in its trading activity; annualized trading volume reached $178 billion by April 2026, a significant increase from $5 billion the previous year. Institutional trading volume also saw an 800% increase in the six months leading up to April 2026.

Kalshi operates as a CFTC-regulated designated contract market, allowing users to trade on outcomes regarding elections, economic data, and sports. The company claims to hold a 90% to 95% share of the US prediction market and reports annualized revenues exceeding $2 billion. Additionally, Kalshi has entered a strategic partnership with The Weather Company to use meteorological data for verifying weather-related market outcomes.
