German towns announce road and rail construction closures
Deutsche Bahn’s DB InfraGO is constructing a new 120‑metre steel lattice railway bridge over the Schwarzer Regen in the Regen district, planned to enter service in mid‑November 2025. The line between Triefenried and Zwiesel will be closed from 15 September to 16 November, with replacement services provided.
In Ludwigsburg, a traffic bulletin lists numerous road closures and restrictions through July 2026, including full closures of Bergstraße, Bidembachstraße, and several other streets for utility upgrades, construction of a new water well, and fibre‑optic works.
Datteln’s city administration reports a temporary traffic reroute on the B 235 (Castroper Straße) beginning 6 July due to renovation of an railway bridge, with work split into three phases and expected to finish by mid‑July.
Kamen will partially close Lünener Straße at the Lidl store from Monday, restricting traffic to one side of the road. The city is also applying for up to €8 million in federal funding to redesign the Alte Markt and Bahnhofstraße to improve climate resilience, creating new green spaces and water‑management features.
These projects collectively affect local commuters and businesses across several German municipalities, requiring detours, reduced road capacity, and temporary service adjustments.
