Sandvik to supply 19 mining units to Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex

Sandvik has secured an order from Kamoa Copper S.A. to supply 19 Toro trucks and loaders to the Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The order includes 12 Toro TH663i trucks and seven Toro LH621i loaders, with two loaders featuring AutoMine® technology.

The delivery schedule is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the final units arriving in the third quarter of 2027. This expansion will increase the site’s autonomous production capability to four AutoMine® Lite systems.

The Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines and Zijin Mining Group. The operation is a high-grade underground mine with copper production guidance of 290,000 to 310,000 metric tons for 2026, targeting an annual production of approximately 500,000 metric tons by 2028. With this new order, the active Sandvik fleet at the complex will exceed 100 units.
