Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State met with a delegation from the Ministry of Finance Incorporated and Mota‑Engil Nigeria to review preparations for the groundbreaking of the Kano Light Rail Project, a N1.05 trillion initiative approved by President Bola Tinubu to improve urban transport and stimulate the regional economy.

The governor also led a high‑level Kano delegation to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, urging the immediate release of the ₦5 billion relief fund pledged for victims of the Singer Market fire, which devastated traders and their livelihoods.
