Kaohsiung boosts summer tourism with amusement parks and retail exhibitions
Kaohsiung is seeing a surge in summer leisure activities, centered around the newly opened Kaohsiung Parent-Child Amusement Park and major retail exhibitions. The amusement park, located at the former Kaohsiung Railway Workshop, offers over 30 free facilities and features large-scale art installations by local artists. Upcoming events include outdoor water parks and character meet-and-greets scheduled for August 22 and 23.
Simultaneously, Shinkong Mitsukoshi Kaohsiung Zuoying is capitalizing on the summer season with popular exhibitions, including Hello Kitty and Snoopy pop-up events. The department store reports a 10% increase in visitors compared to last year, driven by families and young crowds. To prepare for the upcoming school season, the retailer has launched seasonal discounts on apparel and lifestyle goods, alongside the introduction of new dining brands.
