Kaohsiung Opens Daliao Social Housing with 40% Units for Married Couples and Families

The Kaohsiung municipal government has opened applications for the Daliao social housing complex located next to the Daliao MRT station. The project, the city’s second self‑managed social‑housing site, includes 384 units, of which 40 % (154 units) are designated for married couples with children or those expecting a child, and an additional 16 units are reserved for senior households. Applicants must be adult residents or enrolled students or workers in Kaohsiung, have no owned home in the city, and have a monthly household income not exceeding NT$59,395. The housing authority will handle leasing, operation and management through the Kaohsiung Housing and Urban Renewal Center.

Eligibility also covers youth, indigenous peoples and first‑responder families, with a total of 164 units (42.7 % of the complex) set aside for priority groups. The release aims to increase affordable housing options for young families and vulnerable residents in the region.
