Karabük University hosts cultural festival for 81 provinces

Karabük University hosted the ‘KBÜFEST 81 Provinces Meet at Karabük University’ event at its central campus. The festival featured students from 81 different provinces showcasing their regional cultural, natural, and gastronomic values.

During the opening ceremony, Karabük University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Kırışık emphasized the importance of preserving cultural values to maintain social unity. He described these values as a ‘social homeland’ that holds a nation together and allows it to pass its identity to future generations.

Participants engaged in cultural exchange through various stands. For example, representatives from Ağrı offered the city’s registered leaf doner, while representatives from Kırşehir, known as the ‘land of bards,’ presented the city’s history, culture, and culinary variety. Students wore traditional clothing and performed local folk songs throughout the event.
