Karachi police expand investigation into Mir Raza Ali murder case

Authorities in Karachi have expanded their investigation into the death of Mir Raza Ali, a 25-year-old businessman and IBA graduate. Following the exhumation of his remains and a medical report suggesting murder, police have added charges related to homicide and the concealment of evidence.

To ensure the preservation of the crime scene, police have established a 24-hour post at the site in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, with officers working in two shifts. The investigation committee has also been increased from seven to nine members, including a deputy superintendent of police and the SHO of Shah Latif Town.

A judicial magistrate has granted investigators until August 24 to complete the probe. In response to family concerns regarding the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency, Ali’s mobile phone and smartwatch will be sent to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency in Lahore for independent forensic analysis.

Additionally, a court has extended the pre-arrest bail of Ali’s business partner, Muhammad Ahmed, until August 24, restraining police from harassing him while the inquiry continues.
