Karatay district in Konya hosts 9th Düz Bicycle Race with 396 young riders

Karatay Municipality organized the ninth edition of the Düz Bicycle Race in front of the Karatay Traffic Training Park. A total of 396 cyclists aged 6‑14 competed in three age groups (6‑8, 9‑11, 12‑14) on routes ranging from 1.4 km to 2.8 km.

The event was attended by Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca, local party officials and representatives of the Turkish Cycling Federation. Participants received medals and cash awards, and the venue featured bike‑maintenance stations and changing cabins. Police, municipal guards, referees and medical teams were on hand to ensure safety. Kılca met the young athletes, praised the program for promoting sport and healthy habits, and highlighted the municipality’s support for nurturing future national athletes.
