Karawang residents receive government rice assistance
Government officials and representatives from the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) conducted a field visit to Karangligar Village in Karawang, West Java, to oversee the distribution of food assistance. The program aims to maintain food security and alleviate the economic burden on low-income residents, particularly in anticipation of extreme weather conditions and potential crop failures.
Approximately 370 households are designated as beneficiaries. Under the current distribution, eligible residents receive 10 kilograms of rice per month. To maximize impact, Perum BULOG distributed a cumulative allocation for July, August, and September, totaling 30 kilograms per recipient. This assistance program is scheduled to continue through December 2026.
