Karlova Studánka to host events honoring racing legend Eliška Junková

The spa town of Karlova Studánka will host a series of events on August 28 to commemorate the racing legacy of legendary Czechoslovak driver Eliška Junková. Nearly a century ago, Junková competed on the Praděd circuit, securing second place in the over 1500 ccm class driving a Bugatti.

To mark the occasion, Junková’s grandson, Jiří Junek, will participate in a discussion and an exhibition dedicated to her life and career. The program includes a parade of vintage automobiles, featuring vehicles over sixty years old, such as an Aero from 1924, various Renaults, and post-war Škoda models.

The evening will conclude with a puppet theater production titled ‘Eliška, Queen of Bugatti,’ which aims to recreate the atmosphere of historic races like the Targa Florio.
