Commemorations of Eliška and Čeněk Junková
Overview
Events in the Czech Republic have been organized to honor the legacy of racing legend Eliška Junková and her husband, Čeněk Junková.
In Litomyšl, a memorial ride was held featuring approximately 120 historical vehicles manufactured before 1948. Participants from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Austria traveled a 130-kilometer route. The event highlighted rare models, including ten Bugatti vehicles and a Praga Super Piccolo, which is noted as the only surviving model of its kind in the country.
Commemorative activities also moved to Karlova Studánka to celebrate Junková’s racing history on the Praděd circuit. The program included an exhibition and discussion featuring her grandson, Jiří Junek, a parade of vintage automobiles, and a puppet theater production titled ‘Eliška, Queen of Bugatti’ to recreate the atmosphere of historic races.
