Karlovac Police dispute citizen protest over heatwave conditions

Eric Mišić, 27, gained social media attention after filming a confrontation at the Karlovac Police Administration in Croatia. Mišić claims he intervened after seeing dozens of citizens, including children and the elderly, waiting outside in temperatures approaching 40°C. According to Mišić, staff instructed people to wait outside despite the interior being cool, and he recorded the incident to document the situation after his mother began feeling unwell due to the heat.

The Karlovac Police Administration issued a statement disputing Mišić's account, describing his claims as "inaccurate and unfounded." Authorities stated that the building's entire cooling system was malfunctioning, making the interior extremely hot and stifling due to large glass surfaces. They maintained that citizens chose to wait outside because the indoor environment was unbearable, rather than being forced out by staff.
