Czech historical monuments report varied summer tourism trends

Summer tourism at historical monuments across several Czech regions has shown stable or varying trends. In the Karlovy Vary region, Loket Castle saw approximately 119,108 visitors by the end of August, a slight decrease compared to the previous year, though officials noted the numbers remain a pleasant surprise despite ongoing roof repairs. The Boheminium Miniature Park recorded 42,500 visitors during the summer months, a slight decline from the previous year.

In contrast, Valeč Castle reported a significant increase in attendance, with summer visitors rising by approximately 21 percent compared to the same period last year. This growth is attributed to new offerings such as specialized castle warden tours.

In the Zlín region, summer attendance at state monuments remained comparable to last year. Buchlov Castle and Buchlovice Castle saw slight increases, while the UNESCO-listed Květná zahrada in Kroměříž and the Vizovice Castle experienced minor decreases. Overall, the region saw over 51,000 visitors in August alone, following a total of 48,429 in July.
