Czech Republic regional tourism trends

Tourism data from various Czech regions indicates fluctuating visitor numbers across different attractions and historical sites.

In the Hradec Králové region, 119 destinations attracted 2.98 million visitors. While the Dvůr Králové Zoo experienced a 6% decrease in attendance, the Adršpach Rocks saw a slight increase of nearly 0.5%. The region also recorded a 2.8% rise in accommodated tourists, reaching 1.58 million, supported by a nearly 10% increase in international guests.

In the Karlovy Vary Region, summer trends showed mixed results for historical sites. Loket Castle maintained visitor levels similar to the previous year despite ongoing renovations; by the end of August, it saw approximately 119,108 visitors, which officials described as a “pleasant surprise” despite a slight year-on-year decrease. The Boheminium Miniature Park in Mariánské Lázně recorded 42,500 summer visitors, a slight decline from the previous year. Conversely, Valeč Castle reported a 21 percent increase in summer visitors, driven by new specialized castle warden tours.

In the Zlín region, summer attendance at state monuments remained comparable to the previous year. Buchlov Castle and Buchlovice Castle saw slight increases, whereas the UNESCO-listed Květná zahrada in Kroměříž and Vizovice Castle experienced minor decreases. The region recorded over 51,000 visitors in August, following 48,429 visitors in July.

In South Bohemia, the State Castle and Chateau in Jindřichův Hradec experienced a record-breaking summer season, with a nearly 16 percent year-on-year increase in visitors. Growth was attributed to factors such as night tours and the new exhibition ‘Veličenstvo před branami’ (Majesty Before the Gates). Other regional monuments saw growth, including the State Chateau in Dačice (over 10 percent increase) and Landštejn Castle (approximately 7 percent increase). Hluboká nad Vltavou remained the most visited monument in the region with 91,644 visitors, followed by Český Krumlov with 89,501.
