Karlovy Vary Region launches new digital event calendar

The Karlovy Vary Region has launched a new digital event calendar titled ‘Kam na západě’ to centralize information regarding concerts, exhibitions, festivals, sports, and children's programs. Previously, event details were scattered across various municipal websites, cultural institutions, and social media platforms.

The new portal allows users to search for events by date, location, or type, and offers a map view for easier navigation. Users can access detailed information, purchase tickets, share events, or save them to their electronic calendars. To ensure comprehensive coverage, the system integrates data automatically from existing calendars while allowing organizers—including municipalities, museums, galleries, schools, and sports organizations—to input data directly.

The development of the portal cost 1.14 million CZK. Regional officials noted that the project serves both local residents and tourists, acting as a tool for cultural promotion and regional tourism. The region has already conducted training sessions for organizers to facilitate the system's adoption.
