Karnataka CM urges citizen-friendly governance amid farmer protests

Karnataka Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar held a video conference with state government officials and employees to emphasize the importance of citizen-friendly administration. He instructed officials to respond promptly to public grievances and ensure that government services and schemes reach eligible beneficiaries transparently and efficiently.

In a separate political development, JD(S) leaders have criticized the current administration regarding land acquisition and farmer compensation. During a protest march near the Kaniminike toll plaza, which faced police intervention, leaders accused the government of attempting to seize farmers' land. They rejected recent compensation proposals, stating that farmers would not sacrifice their land for monetary offers. A protest led by H. D. Deve Gowda is scheduled to take place at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on August 18.
