Karnataka Examinations Authority launches probe and counseling updates

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has ordered an investigation into potential irregularities regarding a Village Administrative Officer (VAO) recruitment examination. The probe follows social media scrutiny of a candidate from Haveri district who secured 151 marks in the VAO test after previously scoring 25 in a KSRP constable exam. While KEA Executive Director H Prasanna stated that initial identity and OMR sheet checks appeared in order, the Haveri Deputy Commissioner has been tasked with reviewing CCTV footage and submitting a report to determine if any lapses occurred.

Separately, the KEA has announced a final extended round of counseling for Karnataka PGCET 2026. This follows a Supreme Court order extending admission deadlines for MBA, MCA, and MTech courses. The round will include vacant seats and those from candidates who failed to report following the October 13–15 allotment. Candidates who previously received seats but failed to pay fees or report to colleges have until October 31 to complete the process to remain eligible.
