Karnataka launches Prajaseva Andolana to address public grievances

The Karnataka state government has launched the ‘Prajaseva Andolana’ campaign to address public grievances directly at the taluk and hobli levels. In the Bengaluru Urban district, Deputy Commissioner Kantaraju P. S. has ordered officials to prepare for meetings starting September 5, aimed at ensuring the speedy resolution of citizen issues. Taluk-level meetings will occur on the first and third Saturdays of each month, while hobli-level meetings will be held on the second and fourth Saturdays.

During the campaign launch in Tumakuru district, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara announced that the state government intends to issue an order regarding the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for employees soon, fulfilling a previous election manifesto promise. Additionally, the Deputy Chief Minister noted that the government is working to recruit 15,000 teachers and is addressing drought conditions in 102 taluks by supplying water via tankers and private borewells. He warned officials that strict action would be taken if grievances raised during the Praja Seva programme are not resolved.
