Karnataka launches Prajaseva campaign to bring administration to citizens

The Karnataka state government has announced the launch of the Prajaseva campaign, aimed at bringing administrative services directly to citizens' doorsteps. State Government Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh stated that the campaign will commence on September 5 in the Kudligi hobli of Vijayanagara district.

To ensure transparency and accountability, the campaign includes a structured meeting schedule. District supervisory ministers will chair meetings at taluk centers on the first and third Saturdays of each month, while local MLAs will lead meetings at the taluk and hobli levels on the second and fourth Saturdays. The initiative seeks to resolve public grievances within stipulated timeframes and reduce the need for citizens to visit government offices for minor issues.

In other regional developments, the state government has extended the survey period for the Gruha Jyoti scheme beneficiaries until September 30. Meanwhile, in Bengaluru, large-scale protests were held at Lalbagh against proposed legislative amendments that would allow 5% of park land to be used for other purposes, including tunnel road projects. Additionally, Bengaluru police have deported 31 illegal Bangladeshi nationals to Malda, West Bengal, as part of 'Operation Mukta'.
