Karnataka private schools plan major December protest
The Karnataka Private Unaided Educational Institutions Management Association has announced plans for a massive protest in Bengaluru this December. The decision was made during a state-level special meeting held in Bijapur.
State President Revannasiddappa Jalade outlined several key demands, including the inclusion of private institutions established after 1995 under government aid, the re-implementation of the RTE Act to benefit underprivileged children, and the implementation of recommendations from the Puttanna committee. Additionally, the association is seeking tuition fee exemptions for Kannada medium schools.
Before the large-scale demonstration, a delegation intends to meet with the Chief Minister and the Minister for Primary and Secondary Education to submit a memorandum. To prepare for the movement, the association is strengthening its district units across 16 districts in the state.
