Karnataka releases draft electoral roll with 1.08 crore voters marked ASDDO

The Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer has released the draft electoral roll following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026. The draft roll includes 4,46,35,975 electors, down from a previous count of approximately 5.54 crore.

During the enumeration process conducted between June 30 and August 17, 2026, 1,07,96,339 electors were identified under the ASDDO categories (Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate, or Other). This represents approximately 19.48 per cent of the total entries. Within the remaining active voter base, 20.35 lakh electors have been flagged for anomalies and 23.45 lakh have been placed under the NoMapping category. Consequently, over 43 lakh voters will receive notices to verify their eligibility.

In Bengaluru, the draft roll recognizes 56,99,660 voters, meaning 45.13 per cent of voters in the Greater Bengaluru Authority limits were categorized as ASDDO.

Voters have from August 24 to September 23, 2026, to file claims and objections. The final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on October 27, 2026.
