Karposh Cultural Summer features music, art, and film

The Karposh Cultural Summer festival in North Macedonia featured a diverse program of music, art, and film. Recent events included performances by the female choir ‘Frida’, led by conductor Suzana Turundzhieva, which performed a repertoire of international hits from the 1960s through the 1980s alongside Macedonian evergreen and traditional songs.

Artistic contributions included the ‘Karposh Between Colors and Generations’ exhibition by students from the ‘Galika Premium Art’ school, featuring works by approximately 15 artists, as well as pieces by academic artist Elena Galika. Additionally, the ‘ReArt’ project showcased sculptures made from recycled materials created by young talents.

The festival also hosted international folklore ensembles from Mexico, Romania, Hungary, Poland, and Turkey, organized by AKUD ‘Mirce Acev’. Film enthusiasts attended open-air cinema screenings at the ‘Petar Pop Arsov’ primary school, featuring Macedonian films such as ‘Balkankan’ and ‘The Healer’. Musical highlights included performances by the pop-rock cover band ‘Day Off’ and a show by Igor Dzambazov and Guru Hare.
