Kashmir authorities file chargesheets in separate fraud cases

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir has filed a chargesheet against five individuals regarding the alleged fraudulent sale of migrant property in the Baramulla district. The case involves the disputed sale of land in Mouza Wussan, Goshbugh, Pattan, owned by Jawahar Lal Bhat. Investigators allege a conspiracy involving impersonation, forged identity documents, and the misuse of a Power of Attorney to facilitate a transaction worth over Rs 1 crore.

In a separate matter, the Special Crime Wing (SCW) Kashmir filed a chargesheet against a resident of Uttar Pradesh for an alleged investment scam. The accused is accused of duping 12 Srinagar residents of approximately Rs 16.78 lakh through a scheme called ‘Tronix Power & Capital Investment Programme, Delhi’. The scheme promised high returns on foreign exchange investments but was not registered with the Reserve Bank of India.
