Kashmir diaspora stages massive London march demanding release of Pakistani‑detained leaders

After Pakistan detained more than 600 civil‑rights activists in the Pakistani‑administered region of Jammu and Kashmir, protests flared across the area and abroad. In India, demonstrators gathered demanding an end to the crackdown, and the Joint Action and Joint Appeal Committee (JAAC) appealed to New Delhi for assistance.

On Sunday, the Kashmiri community in London organized a “London Kashmir Million March”, with organisers estimating up to 50,000 participants marching from Parliament Square to the Pakistan High Commission. Protestors shouted slogans such as “Pakistan army, go back” and called for the release of detained leaders including Shaukat Nawaz Mir and Sardar Aman Khan, the latter featuring in a viral video saying, “we need your help”. They condemned alleged human‑rights violations by Pakistani security forces and urged the international community to act.
