Kashmiri Pandit employees seek security after receiving threats

Kashmiri Pandit employees working under the Prime Minister’s rehabilitation package in the Kashmir Valley have written to Home Minister Amit Shah expressing grave concerns over escalating security threats. The employees report receiving multiple threatening messages, allegedly from an organization called the ‘United Liberation Council’ (ULC), warning them to resign from their government positions or face serious consequences.

In addition to direct threats, the employees reported that their private data, including phone numbers, home addresses, and vehicle registration numbers, has been leaked online. These developments have heightened fears of a repeat of the mass displacement experienced by the community in the 1990s.

Sunny Raina, President of the All PM Package Employees Forum, noted that while conditions may appear normal on the surface, significant fear and tension persist on the ground. The employees are also calling for improved security in transit colonies and more secure government housing to ensure they can work and live without fear.
