Kashmiri Pandits targeted in new terrorist threat letters

Kashmiri Pandits in Jammu and Kashmir have reportedly received a new series of terrorist threats. A letter circulating on social media, allegedly issued by the United Liberation Council (ULC)—a group linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba—contains a hitlist including names, residential addresses, street numbers, and vehicle details of Kashmiri Pandit families and employees working under the Prime Minister's package.

This marks the second such threat within a 15-day period, following a similar letter in early August that included names and phone numbers. The alleged letters use aggressive language, labeling individuals as ‘traitors’ and ‘white-collar terrorists,’ while claiming that their movements are being monitored. The organization Panun Kashmir has claimed responsibility for the threat on behalf of the group.

Security and intelligence agencies are currently on high alert and are investigating the authenticity of the letters, the source of the distribution, and the identity of those behind the campaign. Kashmiri Pandit employee organizations have called on the administration to immediately increase security measures in the valley.
