Kaspersky study shows rising AI use for personal tasks

A Kaspersky study conducted across the Turkey, Middle East, and Africa (META) region reveals that artificial intelligence has become an integral part of consumers' daily lives, with users increasingly turning to AI for personal matters.

In Turkey, 76% of participants reported using AI services such as smart chatbots and visual or video generation tools. The most common uses include searching for information and summarizing content (79%), writing text (37%), editing personal photos (39%), generating images from text prompts (35%), and creating videos (29%).

The research highlights a shift from task-oriented assistance to personal advisory roles. Turkish users utilize AI for health-related questions (40%), leisure planning such as holidays or parties (32%), and nutrition planning (24%).

Experts warn that this trend raises significant cybersecurity and data privacy concerns, as these interactions often require sharing sensitive personal information. There are also risks regarding the accuracy of AI-generated content; approximately 10% of Turkish participants reported encountering incorrect information produced by AI.
