Kassio Nunes Marques defends reliability of Brazil's electronic voting machines

Kassio Nunes Marques, president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), reaffirmed the reliability of Brazil’s electronic voting machines during a speech at the Chamber of Deputies. Speaking at the opening of the ‘O Caminho do Voto’ exhibition, Nunes Marques described the electronic voting system as a “state policy built over decades” characterized by constant improvements.

He emphasized that the accuracy of election results is secured through a combination of technical procedures that are “incessantly audited and tested.” Nunes Marques noted that the development of the electronic ballot box was a collective effort involving dialogue and cooperation between republican institutions, specifically highlighting the role of Congress in addressing previous electoral vulnerabilities.

The minister stated that the technological evolution of the system serves the integrity of the electoral process and ensures respect for the will of the Brazilian people.
