Katerina Stefanidi takes sixth in European pole vault final

Greek pole vaulter Katerina Stefanidi secured sixth place at the European Athletics Championships held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. Stefanidi achieved a new season best by clearing 4.60 meters on her third attempt during the final.

After successfully clearing 4.30 and 4.45 meters on her first attempts, she reached the 4.60-meter mark to enter the top six. She ultimately failed to clear 4.70 meters, which would have placed her in medal contention.

Fellow Greek athlete Ariadni Adamopoulou also competed in the final, marking her first appearance in a European Championship final. Adamopoulou cleared 4.30 meters but was unable to pass 4.45 meters, finishing in 11th place.
