Silesian cities hold participatory budgeting votes
Several cities in the Silesian region of Poland are currently conducting voting phases for their participatory budgeting programs, allowing residents to decide on local investments.
In Katowice, the voting process for the civic budget began on September 10 and runs until September 23. Residents can choose from 213 projects, including 23 city-wide and 190 local initiatives, with a total value of nearly 31.8 million PLN and a distribution pool of 19.7 million PLN. Additionally, the city's Green Budget has reached the expert evaluation stage, with 189 ecological projects valued at over 6.8 million PLN qualifying for consideration.
Other Silesian municipalities are also in various stages of their budgeting cycles. In Zabrze, voting is underway from September 8 to September 25, covering 67 projects with 7.6 million PLN available. Tychy is scheduled to begin voting on September 15, while Chorzów is set to start on September 20.
