Katowice plans new 133-meter skyscraper near Spodek

A new 133-meter skyscraper is planned for Chorzowska 1 in Katowice, located near the Spodek arena and the Culture Zone. The project, designed by Konior Studio for investor MTX Development, aims to become a new landmark in the Upper Silesia region.

The proposed residential tower will feature 34 above-ground floors and three underground levels. The concept includes approximately 332 apartments and eight service premises on the ground floor. A notable feature is a 555-square-meter public terrace located on the fifth floor, contributing to a total of approximately 2,440 square meters of space accessible to the wider public.

The development will replace an existing pavilion currently associated with Bank Pekao. During an initial meeting with over 100 residents, architect Tomasz Konior expressed that the height of the building is a deliberate ambition for this prominent location. If all procedures proceed as planned, the tower could be completed in approximately five years.
