Katsina Police Arrest Drug Trafficker with 2,000 Diazepam Tablets

Katsina State Police in Nigeria arrested 27‑year‑old Jibrin Salisu on June 15, 2026 after officers on an anti‑crime patrol in Funtua Local Government Area intercepted his motorcycle and found two sachets containing 2,000 tablets of suspected diazepam. Salisu told investigators he had received the tablets from 26‑year‑old Faith Eze for delivery to an accomplice known only as “Gurgu,” who remains at large. Police later detained Faith Eze, who also admitted involvement in the drug trade. The police command, led by Commissioner Umar Ali Fage, said the operation is part of a zero‑tolerance policy toward drug trafficking and that further efforts will continue to dismantle the network.
