Kaufland expands online marketplace to Spain

German retailer Kaufland has launched its online marketplace in Spain, marking its expansion into nine European countries. The platform aims to provide a European alternative to global e-commerce giants, offering over 10 million items across more than 6,400 categories.

Following a recent debut in the Netherlands, the Spanish launch included more than 3,100 vendors. The marketplace currently supports over 15,000 merchants across its network, providing access to a potential customer base of 220 million online shoppers in Europe. The expansion follows previous rollouts in Czechia, Slovakia, Poland, Austria, France, Italy, and the Netherlands.

Kaufland's digital strategy includes tools like the 'EPR Service' to assist retailers with local legal compliance and cross-border integration, allowing Spanish merchants to list products directly on the German Kaufland.de catalogue.
