Kaufland to Expand Organic Private‑Label Range with Naturland Partnership

German supermarket chain Kaufland, part of the Schwarz Group, announced that it will broaden its own‑brand organic assortment. Starting in 2027, products certified by the Naturland association will be sold under the K‑Bio Organic and K‑Plant based labels. The rollout will add certified cheese, meat, frozen foods, canned goods and fresh produce to the range, which already includes about 550 organic items.

Kaufland’s cooperation with Naturland brings stricter standards than the EU organic label, requiring 100 % certified ingredients and tighter limits on additives, fertilizers and animal feed, as well as social criteria. The move follows a market trend: bio‑food sales in Germany grew 4.9 % in the first half of 2026, outpacing the overall food market, despite a consumer survey showing notable skepticism toward organic claims. Kaufland already works with other organic labels such as Demeter and Bioland.
