Kaufland private-label expansion
Entities: K‑Bio Organic · K‑Plant based · Schwarz Group · Naturland · Kaufland
Overview
Kaufland's flagship private‑label range K‑Classic, covering dairy, frozen foods, basics and beverages, is produced by the same manufacturers that supply well‑known brands such as Lorenz, Müller, Arla and Iglo. The brand has been highlighted for its quality ratings and for being part of the chain’s price‑cut strategy that lowered thousands of items in 2024‑2025.
Building on that foundation, Kaufland announced in August 2026 that it will extend its own‑brand portfolio into the organic segment. From 2027, products certified by Naturland will be sold under the K‑Bio Organic and K‑Plant based labels, adding cheese, meat, frozen, canned and fresh items to an existing range of about 550 organic SKUs. The move follows strong growth in German bio‑food sales and aims to meet stricter certification standards.
