Kaufland's K-Classic Brand Relies on Major Manufacturers for Private‑Label Products

K-Classic is Kaufland's flagship private‑label range covering dairy, frozen foods, basics and beverages. Many K‑Classic items are produced by the same manufacturers that supply well‑known brands: Lorenz makes the K‑Classic snack chips, Müller supplies the cream‑milk rice and banana‑chocolate yogurt, Denmark's Arla provides the K‑Classic cream cheese, and Iglo manufactures the fish fillet and fresh spinach. The K‑Classic sparkling mineral water is bottled in Löningen and earned a "good" (1.8) rating in Stiftung Warentest. Kaufland, part of the Schwarz Group that also owns Lidl, cut permanent prices on more than 4,000 items in 2024 and added over 2,700 further reductions in 2025, many of which are K‑Classic products.

The brand’s performance in independent tests and its extensive manufacturer network underline its positioning as a high‑quality, low‑price alternative to branded goods in German supermarkets.
