Kavala and Ptolemaida host new Greek theatrical productions
The National Lyric Stage and DIPHETHE Kavala presented the baroque opera Phaethon on Wednesday, 15 July, at the Ancient Theatre of Philippi. Directed by Sofia Antoniou and musically re‑imagined by Vasiliki Legaki, the production featured George Iatro, Anastasia Kotsali, Leto Messini and newcomer Paris Dematsas, with costumes by Elena Kavvada. Tickets cost €15 (€10 for students, seniors and persons with disabilities).
A week later, the acclaimed play We Lost the Saint Stop by Giorgos Dialegmenos opened its tour stop in Ptolemaida on Tuesday, 28 July, at 21:00. The drama, set in a 1950s gas station, examines poverty and family tension and stars Andriana Andreovits, Jules Eveidi, Natassa Kotsou, among others. The performance is priced at €15 and is suitable for audiences over 12 years old.
