Kawhi Leonard traded back to Toronto Raptors, eyes multi‑year extension

The Los Angeles Clippers have completed a blockbuster trade sending 35‑year‑old forward Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors. In exchange, Toronto sent Brandon Ingram, rookie Gradey Dick, unprotected first‑round picks in 2031 and 2033, a 2027 first‑round pick swap and two second‑round picks. Leonard, who delivered Toronto’s 2019 championship, is expected to negotiate a new contract with the Raptors that could be worth up to $123.7 million over two years.

Ahead of those talks, Leonard switched agents, hiring Harrison Gaines of SLASH Sports to lead negotiations. The new representation follows reports that Leonard is committed to extending only with Toronto, a stance that reportedly deterred other suitors.
