Kawhi Leonard signs two-year extension with Toronto Raptors

Kawhi Leonard has officially returned to the Toronto Raptors, signing a two-year extension with the franchise he helped lead to an NBA Championship in 2019. Although Toronto acquired Leonard from the Los Angeles Clippers in June, the deal was only finalized earlier this month following an NBA investigation into potential salary-cap circumvention by both Leonard and the Clippers.

Raptors General Manager Bobby Webster stated that the organization remained confident the deal would proceed despite the investigation, noting that the team felt their due diligence was sufficient.

Leonard, 35, joins a Raptors roster that includes Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley. While his return provides a significant veteran presence, questions remain regarding the team's depth at the center position, specifically concerning the rotation involving Jakob Poeltl.
