Kayem Foods recalls 1.5 million pounds of meat and poultry products
Kayem Foods Inc., based in Chelsea, Massachusetts, has initiated a recall of approximately 1.58 million pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products. The recall follows an investigation by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) after a customer reported receiving products at elevated temperatures.
The investigation traced the issue to a warehouse cooler that experienced temperature deviations. Affected items, produced between March 31 and October 7, 2026, include hot dogs, bacon, sausage, turkey breasts, hams, meatballs, and deli meats. These products were distributed to retail stores and foodservice operators across the United States and Hong Kong.
While no illnesses have been confirmed, the FSIS has classified the recall as a Class II action, noting that consumption could cause temporary or medically reversible health effects. Consumers are urged not to eat the recalled items and should instead throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. Affected products can be identified by the establishment numbers EST. M/P 7839, EST. P 20935A, or EST. M 9520 located inside the USDA inspection mark.
