Kayseri and Ankara launch major water and green‑space projects
Kayseri Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç presented the city’s Water Master Plan at the Erciyes Summit, attended by the ministers of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, Agriculture and Forestry, and senior officials. He highlighted Kayseri’s water production capacity of about 6,500 L/s, current consumption of roughly 3,500 L/s (rising to 4,500 L/s in summer), and outlined a comprehensive roadmap covering sourcing, treatment, transmission, storage and distribution. The plan is backed by €200 million in EU‑grant‑supported investments, including a €60 million advanced biological treatment facility and further projects for solid‑waste management and renewable energy.
In Ankara, the Imrahor Valley “Millet Garden”, opened in 2025 by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, hosted a weekend festival that attracted families to its bridges, bike paths, playgrounds, cafés, prayer hall and electronic game zones. Visitors praised the free amenities, kite‑flying areas and regular cultural programs, confirming the garden’s popularity as a new public recreation hub.
